SAUVAGE . La reserva

El proyecto SAUVAGE se concibe como un súper-concepto contenedor que alberga un conjunto de investigaciones complementarias vinculadas a  una  idea principal:

                                    La pérdida de la “condición salvaje” necesaria para la existencia de muchas de las especies de este planeta.

Las obras que he desarrollado para  esta exposición tienen su origen en dos de los motivos que provocan la pérdida aludida:

Uno de ellos es el hecho de vernos en la obligación de definir territorios sujetos a condiciones especiales, como son las reservas de especies botánicas o zoológicas, en los que las comunidades de las diferentes especies se desenvuelven y evolucionan en un contexto regulado, guardado o custodiado.

El otro  es la consecuencia extrema de esto, que consiste en el hecho de que la conservación de las especies obliga a una subsistencia confinada.

No obstante, paradójicamente, el concepto de Reserva lleva implícita la perspectiva de futuro, quizás todo ello… para que “sirva a su tiempo”.

Las series Descabezados (huida sin territorio ni destino), Denatured (movimientos repetitivos en un espacio insuficiente) y Detected/Undetected (escrutinio continuo pseudocientífico), junto con el políptico Interdit (la domesticación de lo salvaje), ponen de  manifiesto el  quebranto del espacio vital primigenio y esencial para el estado salvaje.

SAUVAGE. La reserva

The SAUVAGE project is conceived as a container super-concept that includes a set of complementary investigations linked to a main idea:

                                The loss of the "wild essence" that is necessary for the existence of many of the species on this planet.

The works of art that I have developed for this exhibition have their origin in two of the reasons that cause the aforementioned loss:

One of them is the fact that we are obliged to define territories that are subjected to special conditions, such as the reserves of botanical or zoological species, in which the communities of the different species develop and evolve in a regulated, kept or guarded context.

The other is the extreme consequence of this, which consists in the fact that the conservation of the species requires a confined subsistence.

However, paradoxically, the concept of Reserve includes someperspective of the future, perhaps because all of this… “will serve in the future”.

The series Descabezados (escape without territory or destination), Denatured (repetitive movements in insufficient space) and Detected / Undetected (continuous pseudoscientific scrutiny), together with the polyptych Interdit (the domestication of the wild), highlight the damage of primal vital space, which is essential to the wild
