Paco Grau

Paco Grau's extensive career path started in 1978 when he joined the newspaper  “Ciudad de Alcoy” where he remained professionally active for over two decades.

Throughout the period of the Spanish Transition to democracy, he collaborated with different media outlets, such were the newspapers “Información” or “El País”, and publications such as the “Valenciana Semanal”.


He became the chosen photojournalist for times of change and social upheavals in Spain, reflected in the pages of the newspapers to which he would contribute with a strictly personal critical and creative viewpoint.


His work in the press was simultaneous to his intense cultural endeavors, which led him to organize twenty individual exhibitions and participate in thirteen collective photo exhibitions. He was also a crew member for two short and four full-length films.


In the year 2000, he left journalism as his primary career to intensely develop a career as a publications editor. Over the last 20 years, he has launched twenty-four projects and initiatives, reflecting through his photographs different festive and social events in Alcoi and the rest of the province of Alicante.


His work becomes the obligatory reference for the nationally known “Moros y Cristianos” and the Christmas Season events in Alcoi and the Valencian region because of the innovative treatment it displays. 


As a photojournalist covering current affairs and as a publications editor, Paco Grau is one of the key figures in photography in the Valencian Community in recent years. Through his lens, he has been building a particular vision of the world, an original and attractive report of his immediate surroundings.
