Maria Salcines

María was born in León, Spain on August 19th, 1993. The province of León has extensive and rich gastronomic, historical, and artistic cultural traditions. While growing up, Maria lived between León, Gijón, and Asturias.

Despite being from the capital, she spent most of her childhood surrounded by nature in a rural environment which directly inspired her creativity and influenced her development as an artist. Since an early age, she has been interested in drawing, to the point of creating, at the age of 8, a small "business" in which she sold her work.

In her early adulthood, Maria moved to Alcoi, Alicante, where she completed her artistic training as an illustrator and graphic designer. Since graduating, she has worked on commissioned assignments, from traditional works such as graphite portraits or watercolor landscapes to digital works, illustrations, and design.

Maria´s interests are not only in the artistic field of paper or computers; she also enjoys experimenting with different techniques and handcrafts. Creativity is present in several of her hobbies, such as designing and making her costumes or creating fantastic character stories she loves to represent in a board game.

Currently, Maria Salcines lives in Alcoi, enjoying the mountain scenery and the people, while continuing to develop as a creative artist.
