Jorge Sellés at the CANLANDIRANLAR 2024 Animated Film Festival

Visual artist Jorge Sellés has been selected to participate in the 11th edition of the CANLANDIRANLAR International Animation Film Festival in Istanbul (Turkey).

Since 2013, the Canlandıranlar Association has been organizing the Canlandıranlar International Animation Film Festival and screening independent animation films from around the world. The Canlandıranlar Festival screens selections of films from the Annecy, View, O!pla and Canlandıranlar Talent Camp festivals. It also hosts talks, panels, workshops and industry meetings. The Association is responsible for promoting and developing the ASIFA event, the International Animation Day. These two organizations allow local and international animation filmmakers to meet each other and form new and strong bonds.

So far, these entities have hosted acclaimed names from the world of animation such as Nelson Sheen, Bordeaux, Vesna Dovnikovic, Michel Ocelot, Jacques Remy Girerd, Alessandro Rak, Mirsad Ajanovic, Jean-François Laguionie, Anik Le Ray, Regina Pessoa, Abi Feijo, Milad Movahedi, Jul, Anastasia Dimitri, Vasilis Karamitsanisl and many more. The tribute section of the festival has honoured and supported personalities such as Meral Erez, Tonguç Yasar, Emre Senan, Tan Oral and Orhan Büyükdoğan.

The Canlandıranlar Festival also includes a special competition for experimental animated short films in its programme. The main Canlandıranlar Film Festival, which started at the national level, has been established at the international level since 2020. In addition to these, the association establishes the Canlandıranlar Talent Camp.

This annual international event celebrates, from October 21st to 27th, the vibrant and diverse world of animation films, bringing together top talent, innovative narratives and captivating visual art from around the world.

The Festival aims to showcase the best of established and emerging animators, providing a platform for artists to share their passion and creativity with a wider audience. With a carefully curated selection of films, ranging from traditional hand-drawn animation to cutting-edge digital techniques, Canlandıranlar promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for animation enthusiasts of all ages.

Over the course of the festival, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a wealth of animation films, including feature films, short films and experimental works. These films will represent a wide range of genres, styles and themes, from heartwarming family stories to thought-provoking documentaries, through to enchanting fantasy worlds.

In addition to film screenings, Canlandıranlar also features a variety of engaging events and activities designed to enhance the festival experience, including panel discussions with industry professionals, master classes by renowned animators, and exclusive workshops to gain first-hand insight into the creative processes.
