The IV Edition of the FIC 2022 Festival will feature artist Jorge Sellés to commission the Audiovisual & Multimedia Area
FIC - FRENTE DE INICIATIVAS CONTEMPORÁNEAS. Multidisciplinary proposal that brings together different creators around an idea: the defense -hence the name "Front"- of contemporary and avant-garde cultural languages, both in the conception of the proposals, and in the way of showing them to the viewer.
For this new edition, the organization team has relied on the experience of the versatile artist Jorge Sellés to commission the Audiovisual and Multimedia Area. In this section, the most recent works by internationally recognized and prominent artists of the new digital era will be exhibited, along with a selection of emerging artists with a notable projection of the current global scene. The names of Alessandro Amaducci, Arezou Ramezani, the electronic duo Cachopou (formed by the artists David Quiles and Juanma Lodo) together with Jorge Sellés himself, the Colectivo Neiro (composed by the engineer Laura Cuenca and the musician Nacho Pascual), Hernando Urrutia, Isabel Pérez del Pulgar, Mark Klink and Michaël Borras aka Systaime will make up the artistic proposal of the current new digital media in the disciplines of Audiovisual Art, Video Art, Glitch Art, Computerized and Generative Art, Noise Art and Net Art.
The board of directors of the FIC 2022, made up of its coordinator José Ayelo Pérez and its curators and producers Helena Ferrando (Las Canadienses), Ana Estebán (Las Canadienses), Andrés Leal (IMAC Teatro) and José P. Ortiz (La Creativa), has opted to give a relevant role to the national and international representation of video artists; For this reason, all the existing interior and exterior spaces of the KAKV (Casa de la Cultura de Villena) and the Ermita de San Antón will be enabled to offer the viewer a new, more immersive, participatory experience in agreement and consistency with the rest of the artists. participants of different and diverse qualities, subjects and creative methods (painting, illustration, photography, dance, performance, music, artistic intervention and installation). The closing of this 4th edition of the festival will be in charge of the renowned and incombustible DJ Moondog's Son from Alicante with a live session.
An event that will not leave the attendees indifferent and that will serve as a precedent of awareness, responsibility, need and cultural impulse with the added value of claiming that attitude and aptitude, born of commitment, knowledge and passion, can go beyond any border imposed imaginary of empty and incompetent organizations and institutions, whose sole purpose is perpetuity in their continuity and sterile favoritism, which continue without focusing on the common good and continue to ignore the imminent and enriching socio-cultural transformation and its inescapable progress in our time.
In this period of uncertainty, convulsion and human crisis that we are experiencing, the FIC is configured as an encouraging circumstance on our path that invites us to reflect from freedom, tolerance, equality, cohesion, participation and respect: fresh and renewing air where they always make us believe that it rains it pours.
