QUEER Series of Ephemeral/Botanical Sexuality

This project was born as a change, as a way of portraying in a pictorial and unconventional way. Trying to unlink the binary gender paradigm that has bound the portrait throughout history.

With the aim of looking for a way of representing the portrait, in which neither a male nor a female face is necessary. With the help of botany as a metaphor, because depending on the type of plant the body portrayed acquires different connotations, and the terms QUEER and outfit, the aim is to strip the person of their gender, portraying their essence, always trying to generate that effect of doubt, making the spectator ask the question: Is the portrait a question of gender?

Therefore, it is of vital importance to generate a mixed media work, which supports the concept of plurality and at the same time cohesion. The techniques to be used in this project range from pencil and pen to watercolours, acrylics and oils.
