Enric Piera

Enric was born in the village of San Benito, near Ayorá, Valencia, where he grew up immersed in the rural culture of essential values. He worked as a farm worker, a carpenter, a shoemaker, and a pressman while attending high school evening classes. When he turned 20 years old, he moved to Alicante to pursue a degree in Social Work, specializing in children at social risk.

Since childhood he has been attracted by organic matter, his artwork experiments with clay, stone, and oil, searching to express and accentuate the transformation of the organic matter oxidized by time and the effort of human intervention. He continued his artistic training by attending engraving, painting, and sculpture courses.

When he moved to Alcoy, he began a trajectory of solo and group exhibits in his career, always linked to matter and abstract expressionism. Constantly looking for contents that speak of the land and memory. Always from the perspective of Nulla aesthetica sine ethica.

He develops, among others, the series: TIERRA IGNOTA. REMINISCENCIAS FURTIVAS. MATRIX EARTH. IMMIGR-ARTE. INVISIBLE LIVES.
