David Pastor
David Pastor (Alcoi, 1971).
Since an early age, David is dedicated to designing, comics and illustration.
In 1995 he obtained a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of San Carlos in Valencia, specializing in drawing.
His artwork emphasizes figurative art that is descriptive, with representations of great verism, although it does not fall into the hyper-realism that positions the model at the service of the technique. Above all, David takes advantage of the narrative and symbolic value of elements, trying to transform the viewer's emotions into an individual intimate experience.
Since 1997 he has combined painting large formats of religious paints for churches in the Valencian Autonomous Region, with teaching plastic arts in secondary schools. In 2008, 2009, and 2010 he was selected to participate in the Figurative Painting Workshop at the University of Navarra, taught by the distinguished Master Antonio López.
His work can be seen in Altarpieces and Shrines in Alquerias del Nen Perdut in Castelló, and in Guadalest and Campello, Alicante. It deserves a special mention his murals of San Francisco de Asis and Sant Josep Obrer in the Sanctuary of María la Auxiliadora.
Currently, he is a Secondary and Baccalaureate teacher at the Almedia School in Callosa d'en Sarrià where he teaches Plastic, Visual and Audiovisual Education, Technical Drawing, and Art History.
